FOUR 12 YEAR OLD CHOIR BOYS DROWNED IN HEARTBREAKING LOVE SLAYING

The Unfaithful Ways, a band of brothers, Friday night in a small town, heartbreak and trouble and the open road. They release their latest offering "Free Rein" in early October 2011 on Aeroplane Music, the flagship label of Native Tongue Publishing.

Fusing songs of love, loss, protection, and the darker side of human emotion, this Christchurch four-piece has a stretch well beyond their years, owed no doubt to the fact that they have been singing in choirs together since the age of twelve. Drawing direct threads from the musical legacy of The Byrds, Townes Van Zandt and strangely enough The Eagles to weave their own beautifully tempered and widely acclaimed sound.

Their three short years as The Unfaithful Ways has seen them rise to support Band of Horses, Justin Townes Earle, appear at the 2010 APRA Silver Scrolls Awards and Big Day Out 2011. Their studio work has also been well received issuing an EP "Four First Songs" in 2009, and contributing to an English Townes Van Zandt Tribute Album in 2010, and The Harbour Union Album in 2011. Their debut album, "Free Rein" was released in October 2011 and has been met with nationwide critical acclaim.

When asked about their winning combination their answer summed up the straight forward attitude and obvious knack for collaboration that comes naturally to The Unfaithful Ways and makes their blend so strong:

"While we have a huge foot in tradition I think you got to find your own spin on things," was Marlon Williams' reply. "I think we see all the strengths in the group while knowing our own path," Simon Brouwer added. " The songwriting is shared and the singer is not always the person who wrote the song," Sebastian Warne was quick to agree, "We believe this gives us a perspective and overview beyond one persons critical faculties" "As well as being a very traditional approach to country song writing this has obvious benefits when it comes to performance and interpretation," finished Ben Woolley. And there you have it... straight from the collective mouths of The Unfaithful Ways.
